Adding "S" (He / She / It)
In the affirmative form, verbs with He, She, and It take an -s, but there are spelling rules!
Rule 1: Most Verbs
For most verbs, just add -s.
- work ➔ works
- eat ➔ eats
- play ➔ plays
Rule 2: Ending in -ch, -sh, -s, -x, -o
If the verb ends in one of these sounds, add -es.
- watch ➔ watches
- wash ➔ washes
- go ➔ goes
- do ➔ does
Rule 3: Consonant + Y
If the verb ends in a consonant followed by 'y', drop the 'y' and add -ies.
- study ➔ studies
- cry ➔ cries
- fly ➔ flies
A. Affirmative Form
Type the correct form of the verb in brackets.

4. Water (freeze) at zero degrees.
B. Negative Form
Make the sentences negative using don't or doesn't.
He plays football.
He football.
I like coffee.
I coffee.

C. Make Questions
Complete the questions using Do or Does and the verb.
They speak French.
