Grammar Rules

We use Which one and Which ones to avoid repeating the noun when we are asking someone to make a choice.

  • Which ONE = For Singular Nouns (1 thing).
    Example: Look at these jackets. Which one do you like?
  • Which ONES = For Plural Nouns (2+ things).
    Example: Look at those shoes. Which ones do you want?

Answering

You can also use one / ones in your answer!

"I like the blue one." (Singular)
"I prefer the black ones." (Plural)

1. I like the red dress. Which do you like?
2. These sneakers are nice. Which do you prefer?
3. A: Do you want an apple? B: Yes, the green please.
